BWRT® Level 2

BWRT® Level 2

Level 2 BWRT® can be used to treat more serious issues such as:

  • Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Sexual Addiciton/Obsession
  • Binge Eating and Drinking
  • Eating Disorders
  • Substance Abuse
  • Alcoholism
  • Depression
  • Gambling
  • Bullying

Often these issues are firmly attached to how clients see themselves as people. One common feature of these problems is that people suffering from them develop a negative self-identity which locks them into the problem. Here is an example: imagine a child grew up alone believing the sky was green and the grass was blue. When that child encountered other people, you can imagine it might have difficulty accepting that the sky is, in fact, blue and the grass is green. Now imagine if you grew up believing that you couldn't do something, or that you were 'wrong' in some way - the principle is the same.

If you have a pet, then you will know that animals immediately seek those things that they need. If they are hungry, they will eat; if tired, they will sleep. They can only be what they are meant to be. As humans, we can override our natural selves through the things we learn. A child might grow up being taught that they should be seen and not heard, becoming an adult who has difficulty expressing themselves. Level 2 BWRT® can give people the tools they need to make a permanent, postive change in both their identity and behaviour.

Level 2 BWRT® is based on 4 stages of work, which usually take place over 4 weekly sessions following a full assessment, so 5 sessions in total. Occasionally, a few additional sessions will be necessary, and sometimes sessions are arranged following this 'core' process (either recommended by your practioner or at client's request) to help reinforce and strengthen the new positive self-identity and behaviour, or to deal in more depth with any specific issues.

Some of these issues is a highly complicated and we do not claim that BWRT® will be effective for every client. We always recommend you consult your GP to discuss any symptoms you may have. Therapy works differently for each individual and therefore levels of success and length of treatment may vary. BWRT® is not intended as a replacement for detox treatment for alcoholism or substance abuse but rather as a complement to these. BWRT® can produce very good resolution of symptoms of reactive depression; however, if the depression is primary, i.e. not related to anything else, BWRT® is less likely to be as effective.
